Hard Start
Well this has been happening for a while..
I'll leave my truck sitting for a while.. and it will take about 6-10 seconds for it to crank. If I cut it off, and start it back up... it fires up fine.
I can take my gas cap off and hear lots of vapor being released... as well as you can get under the truck after you cut it off and sound like the diesel is trickling back to the tank.
Any ideas?
I replaced my VP44 less then a year ago with a BD-Power HP pump.. so I don't know if it's my VP going out or what.

Hard Start
I have a very similar problem and it's been that way since the day I bought the truck, even before I started upgrades. I've been told it sounds like there's a small leak that's letting some air into the lines and pushin the fuel out of the motor causing the hard start. Have u tried clicking the starter to run the fuel pump for a fee seconds before cranking? This works for mine. It always starts, just takes a few seconds sometimes. Frustrating. Haven't found a leak yet and don't really know what to check. If it's parked with the front end of the truck downhill, it starts fine. If the front of the truck is uphill, well that's another story
