Default VP-44 Ram Air

Here are some pics on my $5 Ram Air to keep the VP-44 a little cooler. With keeping the tank over half full and fuel additive every fill, should help.

I like it - but I cant really see how it would help much without some type of fan. IMO, thats not going to do much for low speed city driving or any similar situations. I think your onto some there - its just not complete.

Look like a good idea, but I do agree it needs more. When the truck is stopped, or slow, that's when there is minimal air movement and heat builds up. I like, just seems there is something missing.

Maybe a fan to move air in the tube.

Think the 1 by 1 would work well enough?

I was thinking a 2" fan to get more CFM, then put a 2" to 1.5" adapter on the end of the tube.

I say a 1" x 1" is too small

should just cut a hole in the hood, and route the pipe through it. then it would be like a chimney. heat rises. LOL

Heck, if you going to do that cut two holes. One for a snorkel to feed air to the bottom, and another to let the heat off the top!

I think I'm going to order the fan or buy one in town and buy the tubing this week and do a write up on it to help everyone out. Not sure how to get the fan to pull enough cool air yet though so opinions welcome
