In tank fuel pump?

If, and I stress the IF, the VIN is stored in a dealer wide database they would be able to look at the service records and see the past work done to it.
If you go with the FASS HD series like I did, get a Vulcan Draw Straw V as well. You remove the factory in tank pump, and it eliminates the 1/4 issues associated with earlier draw straws. The Air Dog2 comes with a similar product in their kit.
AS for the wiring, I left the wires alone on the harness to the tank. On the inside I removed the wires and pins completely from the module. Only two wires that go to the level sender are required. The computer won't know the difference at all.

When my last fuel pump went dead I went down to Carquest and got their stock replacement made by Airtex. That was 2 years ago and it was about $200. That pump mounted in the stock location(on the engine block) and worked fine. About 400hp is its limit though.
I was starting to pull it down to the 4-5psi range on WOT so I switched it out for a Walbro.
I don't know if Carquest still sells it or not but it was a decent pump. But you could also put together a Walbro setup for a little more, depending on how fancy you want to get. Bad thing about the Walbro is you have to track down all your own fittings as Glacier Diesel quit selling their kit.
Whatever you get, make sure you have a permanent Fuel pressure gauge mounted or at the very least one of the low pressure warning lights.

x2 on the CarQuest pump! My maiden voyage with my truck was down to West Glacier, MT. Went to Whitefish and bought a CarQuest pump, changed it in the parking lot even. It got me by for a while. Problem was I still had the in-tank pump, and it needed to be running as well. So with the pumps in series I had 29PSI at low idle at the pump. A little high for my liking.
