Default Advice on fuel tank module repair

OK, I installed a vulcan draw straw and when I had the module out I made the mistake of picking up the module from the bottom and poked my finger through the bottom screen. Now the fuel just goes thru the bottom of the module so when I get below 1/2 tank I start to lose fuel pressure. Anyway looking for advice how to fix it without buying a new module. It is the very bottom part of the module about 1 inch tall that can be removed with the 2 screens in it. I was thinking of shaping a piece of plastic and gluing it in the bottom just above the bottom screen with jb weld or silicone but not sure how that would hold in the diesel?....another thing I was thinking is fold over a sheet of tin foil several times wrap it around the bottom outside and hold it in place with a big clamp? I have a 140 mic filter before the raptor so I'm not concerned with filtering inside the tank. Or, maybe someone might have this piece laying around, haven't been able to find at junk yard.....not many Dodges there Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possibly you could go to someplace like Home Depot and buy a connector for lawn sprinkler plumbing. They sell connectors with screen attached. Get one compatable with your draw straw size. Just a thought. Your best bet would to buy a new unit, just my thoughts. Good luck, Kerley

Go to the dealer and see if you can buy just the screen

I don't see why the screen causes this problem.

Thanks all, the screen causes the problem because it lets the fuel flow out of the bottom to fast. I cut and formed a thick piece of plastic the size of the area where the screen was broken and glued it on with JB water weld which they say can be used to repair gas tanks and is petroleum resistant. So far so good its holding and problem solved.....I would like one of them Hellman sump pumps though...but just spent some $$ on the truck so will have to wait. Thanks all for your input
