Check Gauges?

Check Gauges?
Have an 02 5speed 2wd.
CHIME, "Check Gauges", comes up on the dash.
Zero Voltage, showing. Nothing dead flat.
Stop.
Shut her down.
Check under the hood,nothing unusual.
Start her up, voltage is fine, she is charging.
This happened about 2 weeks ago, has run fine, then today, she does it again.
Shut her down, restart, all is fine,
What could it be, PCM (voltage regulator is in there) (OUCH), alternator or could it be a splice in the factory harness, I have heard of some problems in some of the factory soldered joints.
Other than that she runs great.
Will check for codes on monday.
Thanks in advance.
Have a great weekend.

Try giving this guy a call, mine was doing the opposite and overcharging, and I got a kit for the altenator from him for around $40 I think, just give him call and tell him what it's doing. Ken McCabe, 1-740-342-5007. Been about 2 weeks since I put it in and haven't been having the problems anymore.

Gauges
Thanks for the input.
Looks like it was, looking at the engine from the front, the positive battery cable end, drivers side.
It was the small red cable. It looks like either it was never put together corrrectly or it just worked itself loose.
Replaced the cable end with an inexpensive bolt on universal.
Will have one made up asap.
Going for a long drive, Calgary, Portland, next week.
Will let you know, if anything goes wrong.
Thanks again
