it may have been not sure, maybe i just read it wrong. I just thought it said P1698

Is that read with a scanner?
Unusual codes. Maybe dirt ECM or PCM connections?
Also check all your grounds on the truck (I think there are at least 7) but cant remember them all.

p1698- No bus message from TCM (transmission control modual)
something wrong with your TCM, how is your tranny working?
(Had the same thing with my truck, mechanics couldn't figure it out other than putting in a new TCM ($800)
. So i just did a tranny swap and put in a standard.
