Default 98 dodge cummins ?

i just bought a 98 3500 dodge 24v cummins with 120k miles one owner it is clean and runs good i just got a few ? 1st what is a 53 block i heard some one on here say to stay away from them! 2nd its got 3.55 gears and the owner says it got 20mpg i have only goten 14.5 empty babying it! its got a new air filter and fuel filter. and i have been told about the lift pump its the stock one on it it has 8/9 psi at the filter is that enough psi? i dont want to mess up the inj pump! i am going to put a gage inside the cab to keep a check on it. it dont smoke but when i crank it it does a little but that it thanks

Fuel filter, maybe some injector cleaner

its got a new fuel filter and the last fill up i put in a bottle of kleen in the tank i havent checked it yet though

You have not told us if its a 12V or 24V?

Judging by your fuel pressure its a 24V correct?

a 53 block was a block that is prone to cracking on the side of the block there is a number stamped on it you will know

if that isnt enough pressure i need a lift pump right? how much is it supose to have?

Minimum 10 PSI at WOT. 15-18 at idle is good.
