Default failure codes for a vp 44 injection pump

I have a 2000 Dodge 2500 with an afe intake, edge juice with attitude and 4 inch exhaust that died yesterday, and will not start. I read the codes and came up with three, p1689 (controller area network bus failure), and p 1688 (internal fuel injection pump controller failure), and the third p0252 (injection pump fuel metering control A range/performance. I searched and found that the p 1688 code meant injection pump failure but i couldnt find much about what the p1689 or p0252 mean. I guess its time for a pump but i was just curious about the other two codes, any help would be appreciated.

There's a thread somewhere with the listing of codes. I'll keep looking, someone will find them

P0252 is Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Range

I can find P1698 - are you sure its that one?

Codes: https://www.dieselbombers.com/codes.php

Yeah, you very likely need a VP-44.

Have you cleared the codes and they came back? Sometimes they can hiccup and throw a couple of codes and you clear them and its ok. But unfortunately, that doesnt often happen with VP-44 related codes.

Do you have a fuel pressure guage in the cab? You having dead pedal symptoms?

I did try to clear the codes, cleared p1689,p0252, but the p1688 is still there. I tried to crank it again after clearing the codes, but still no luck.

No dead pedal symptoms. The edge has a fuel pressure guage and it was reading in the 14psi range at 2000 rpm. I had been driving the truck for about two hours when I stopped at a store and shut it off and it wouldn't crank.

You will need a new pump friend. Hopefully you were not far from home when it happened.
