Default Lift pump replacement

Well... I got to replace my lift pump, and hopefully my VP isn't hosed. Any helpful hints? Maybe what not to do's? I've never did one, do I get it from top side, or underneath? Looks kind of like a bare, maybe not, we'll see... and I'm going with a factory replacement, how about the quick disconnects on the fuel lines, how they come off???

You can get at it from the top pretty easy. Thats how I got mine out when I put in the FASS 150. There shouldn't be any quick disconnects around the lift pump, just banjo bolts.

So the banjo bolts just screw in to both sides of the lift pump?

on my 00 i could get at it from the top or also from the bottom by pulling the starter.

Also there are some new lift pumps that have quick disconnects it just depends it this one has been replaced before.

Billy D i would recomend to go ahead and pay the money for something along the lines of a fass or airdog. Espically with the comp. Ive put two pumps on in 62k and this last one was replaced in april is going out now.
for what i spent on these two i could have almost bought a airdogII

first what not to do is going with the factory replacement
I would go with an air dog but others prefer fass
they are easy enough to install that I did the air dog 150 on mine in the front yard
do you have a fuel pressure gauge if not perfect time to install one since you are working on the fuel system
lots of write ups on here on air dog installs

if the lift pump looks like the pic added yes you do have quick disconnects

if it mounts as a vertical unit then you have all banjo fitings

Also I told myself i didn't have the money but now i wish i had put the ADs on in the first place. two lift pumps @ $150 min that comes to $300 and ive seen ADs going for $500 And with the edge trust me you will go through stock lift pumps fast
