How to keep from getting P0238 code

I have the same problem. I have replaced my map sensor three times and the problem keeps coming back. Now the light stays on and the truck will not excellerate at times. It will last for a few minutes up to 10 or 15 miles. When it releases it runs like it should. It is very inconsistent but starting to happen more often and for longer distances. If I am pulling a hill and it acts up I am lucky to do the speed limit. Please help. I have spent alot of time and money tring to figure it out and no one seems to have an answer. Thanks

I had a similar issue, after replacing connectors and the sensor itself , i did some checking and found that even with my key off and removed, the ECM is staying on and drawing power through the entire system and after each time that id clear the code and shut the truck off, itd come right back on as soon as i started it the very next time so as a temporary fix until i figured out why its stuck on, i simply hard wired my box diredctly to the battery post, kinda sucks cause it stays on all the time . Sounds like maybe you are having a similar problem.
P.S the reason it trips the MAP sensor in this case is because if the ECM is trying to read the map sensor and there is a box plugged into it and the box is off, it keeps the ECM from being able to read it until the truck is started again

One more issue
Now not only do I have the map sensor problem, my fuel pressure gauge went to zero today and wouldn't recover. I drove about 10 miles to get to work and it kept running. Any one know how long it would take with no fuel pressure to take out the injector pump? I am thinking if it had no pressure for that long that it would have quit running. Mabye it is my gauge. Any thoughts?

Dear pgall- Your injection pump will run for a surprisingly long time with the lift pump bad. The main problem is that it is not drawing enough fuel to cool itself and return heated fuel back to the tank. Pretty soon parts overheat and it will fail completely. You will have a harder time starting it when it is warm - that is a good sign that the lift is bad. BTW don't always think the lift is bad when the guage reads zero - I know it scares you when you see it - but on my truck the wire came off the FASS pump so it was not pumping. I replaced the wire and mounted it better and viola! All is well. Besides the FASS, Airdog, and raptor there is a gear driven pump by glacier that looks really nice and price is good. Good luck and fix the lift situation soon.
