What does this mean?

When I pull off from a stop with the pedal to the floor, the trucks accelerates fine but won't shift to 2nd gear until I let off the pedal a little. The engine racha up to about 3200 and holds... Any ideas?

if you ask me that's how an automatic trans works if you floor it

I have never had an auto do that. Usually they still shift even when it's floored.

Might be a solenoid in the valve body. Check all grounds on the engine and trans first.

Check the adjustment of your Throttle Valve Cable.

been there, just had mine rebuilt 47re 2 gear band was wore out not pulling in. how many miles on it.
