tire size
i have a leveling kit on my truck and my 305s fit perfect. i put a 315 on it and at full lock it hit the fenderwell so i would go either 285s or 305s with a leveler
o and thats on a 16inch rim the size is 305 75 16

Let's try it this way.
Has anyone mounted 315 or 285 75R-16 E's on an '00 to '02 3500 without resorting to rear wheel spacers? (Wheel spacers aren't a great idea for carrying or towing heavy loads.) If so, how do they fit the offset spacing on the dual wheels?
Thanks.

i had 315s on my truck with a 2" leveling kit and they would rub quiet a bit on the control arms i have a friend who did wheel spacers and has no problem with rub.. i still have the leveling kit on my truck with a 285/75 now and they rub on hard turns. i have a quad cab long bed truck idk if there is any turning difference.
Answered my own question with the help of local tire shop yesterday. Like all along - without wheel spacers - 235/85-16 is as large as you can go on a pre-'00 3500 dually - 255/85-16 is as large as you can go on a '00 to '02 3500 dually. There are several choices in 255/85-16 E - including a serious off-road tire. But not many.
315's & 285's 75-16 will rub sidewalls with load squat.
