Fram are bad oil filters been know to break off (very small piece) and clog up the cooling nozzels to cool the rings on the pistons.Heres a nice kit for you if your truck is stock and yes these are the good filters...Dodge Cummins Diesel Truck Accessories – Geno’s Garage this helps.:tu:

May be easier to make a list of good ones. :)

Baldwin
Hastings
Fleetguard (local Cummins dealer)
Napa Gold (at your local napa)
Mobil1

I generally use the fleetugards and either buy them at the local cummins dealer or order them from Geno's.

I've heard bad of fram, no offense, but for good I usually run wix (usually napa branded) but I'm trying out an amsoil aE or whatever this time around. someone who sells ams remind me why this filter is awesome?

if your running amsoil the filter will last the length of the oil. It's a synthetic media and has a lot more filtering capacity. eao80

Um no. A mechanic buddy of mine has rebuilt more than 1 Cummins with a K&N on it.

Fleetguard Stratapore LF3894 is the ONLY oil filter to put on these beasts.
