contact Heath and get the amsoil for it. it's less than that and good quality. you want to run a synthetic. I am getting ready to service mine as I just got the truck a few months ago and would feel better knowing the condition of the oil in it. I am pretty sure you can pay less than half that getting the amsoil shipped to you.

The AMSOIL is severe gear lube and works great in these trannies.

according to the product look up page it's Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube (MTG) is a premium blend of the finest synthetic base oils and advanced, high-performance additives. It is formulated specifically for maximum protection in the most demanding manual transmission and transaxle applications where an extreme pressure GL-4 gear lube is specified, including those where high horsepower/high torque engines and towing or heavy loads increase transmission stress.

AMSOIL MTG helps prevent the thinning effects of mechanical shear. It is formulated to maintain its viscosity and superior film strength for consistent, long-lasting wear protection. AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube excels in hot and cold temperature extremes that exceed the limits of conventional mineral oils. It protects against rust, keeps seals soft for long life, and is compatible with brass synchros for smooth synchromesh shift quality.

Ideal for NV-4500 Transmissions
AMSOIL Synthetic Manual Transmission & Transaxle Gear Lube is a thermally stable, extreme pressure formulation that resists heat, oxidation, acid build-up and varnish. It is the ideal gear lube for high temperature applications, including the New Venture NV-4500 transmission, which retains heat due to its cast iron housing and is often subjected to heavy loads and high torque from turbo-diesel engines.

AMSOIL MTG is the replacement fluid for GM part #12346190 and Chrysler part #4874459 (Chrysler specification #MS-9070).

in an NV4500???

NOTHING but Syntorq (sold by dodge and GM as well as quad4x4), amsoil Synthetic Manual Transmission and Transaxle Gear Lube 75W-90 API GL-4, or the royal purple (or redline, don't remember.) But nothing that's not GL-4 or it will kill the synchros.

I can't find the link on the science behind it, but if I find it I'll post it up. It is important that you run the right ****.

tried the 5w-30 motor oil, on long trips with heavy loads the tranny would overheat, and with the 75W-90 gear oil the gears were so heavy i could barely move em it calls for the syntorq but i cant find it anywhere any idea on where i could get it

ABSOLUTELY NOT !!! Thats for the NV-5600 and I wouldnt even run it in that tranny.

As already said, for an NV-4500HD you need a GL-4 rated tranny fluid. The only 2 options here are Castrol Syntorque or AMSOIL MTG. I would go with the AMSOIL as its half the price or less, and just as good. (think its around $11 or $12 a litre)
