Default a crazy thought??????

hey guys, i was just thinking a thought, maybe crazy, maybe not, but if one was to put an EF shift ****, or any button **** in their truck, would they somehow be able to rig things up where theres an actual lo range and hi range on the range selector switch?

Like, would it be humanly possible, to somehow run vacuum hoses or something between the t case and switch, with addition of BD 2 lo kit, to somehow make it so if pulling a heavy load, you could start out in a low range gear and run through a couple/few gears and then while in neutral, flip the EF **** range selector up, for normal hi range and grab more gears? Has this ever,, or could this ever be done? I think itd be awesome, and probably save some on wear n tear from having a heavy load starting out, especially on an incline or something.

Like i said, just a crazy thought, and was wondering if something like that was even feasible on our trucks.

Yes this can be done. By the parts from Pac Brake as they make a kit for this already. I've never seen it work nor have I installed one but I would think this is what you are after.

If you are instead talking about a gear splitter - gear vendors makes something like that.

are you talking about a high and low range for the gears, there are dump trucks that are 6 speeds with a high and low switch on the gear shifter, you will need a air compressor put on your engine.

you can put a air compressor on your engine, just below the fuel pump is another hole on the gear housing, that is called the accessory drive, that is where the air compressor goes, but then you would have to get a transmission that is activated by air.

not sure if this is what you were thinking.

essentially, im just asking, if theres a way to make a hi range lo range switch on like an EF ****, just like semis have a lo range and hi range for gear selection.

Are you talkin about using the t-case as your high and low? If so, no the t-case is not designed to shift from low to high while moving more than about 2mph.
