Default Tow Mirrors on A 2002

I have a 2002 2500 that has the power/heated small mirrors and want to put the flip out tow mirrors on. Dodge says i can only get the manual ones. Will mirrors off the third gen fit? Or it the mounting piece different? And where could i get ones that would fit? Thanks

3rd. gen mirrors wont fit. Dodge only sells the flip out tow mirrors in manual/non heated but i've found some on ebay that are heated and power, however they dont include the inner support plates. You have to buy them from dodge.

2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Truck Power Heated Tow Mirror Pair:eBay Motors (item 270501637188 end time Jan-13-10 16:41:37 PST)

I found these on ebay, the backing plates on my factory ones won't work then? I just assumed they came ready to install but i guess you learn somthing everyday. Thanks for the help and any other info would be great on the backing plates.

Cheapest (and best) place I have found to get the KoolVue mirrors is here:
Dodge Ram 2500 Truck Mirror - Side View at 1AAuto.com
You can get the backing plates at the dealership for the same or less as you will find them online. Don't have the part # handy for that though. If your truck has the small mirrors, you most likely don't have the backing plates on them currently. Good luck.

I put the Kool Vue on my 99 and they making towing a breeze.
Here are the part #'s for the brackets that you will need from the dealer.
PLEASE NOTE: If your vehicle did not come with this mirror originally and it is being purchased as an upgrade, a reinforcement mounting bracket will have to be purchased from the dealer. This allows the mirror to work properly. This bracket is part number: K55156129AC and the other side bracket is K55156128AC
I think the brackets are about 16 bucks each.

Default thanks

Thanks for the replies i think im going to go with those. Now to come up with the $ to get em as i just had tranny failure and just got it back from being rebuild. There's not much around in my area of missouri that knows a whole lot about these trucks. I've read diesel power since the first mag came out and just found this site. I just dont have the $ to make my truck as nice and powerful as some you read about and see. Guess its a rich mans sport. I appreciate the help with the mirrors and will try to get on here more to chat with you guys. Have a good holiday..

Default Great tow mirrors

I put these on last month. Model 7020

Towing mirrors by Power Vision

Great kit, came with the reinforcement brackets and plugged into stock mirror controls.
Had to install the power in/out switch on the driver door. Hardest part was routing the wire harness through the dash to the other mirror.
