Default AIR DOG 150 froze?

Well i didnt drive my truck for 3 days and it was like 8-14 the whole time that it sat. i jumped in the yesterday and let it warm up for 10 or 15 min then off i went. i got about 1/2 mile and it acted like it was running out of fuel. sat there and it started back up drove another 1/2 mile and did the same thing. i have the air dog 150 system on my truck i was just wondering if this system is known for freezing up? it warmed up today and i put a little diesel 911 in it and now it runs fine. so i need to rap it in heating tape or something? everyone tells me that diesel fuel shouldnt freeze up cause they put stuff it in.

thatcould be your problem. I would recomend draining it every time you fill up. but on those i think you just turn the thing on the bottom of the canister and it should drian from the bottom of the canister

Don't know why you might have gelling issues at those temps (unless that was sub zero). Only time I had a gelling issue was last year at -25 because I was running a biodiesel blend (mandatory here). You might want to consider using some winter additive to prevent gelling.

I think the Airdog systems do get affected by the cold, mine started to drop pressure not alot but maybe 1 or 2 psi during the past few days it had been a little cold maybe around 35 and today it has been pretty warm and its back to normal.I called pureflow and they told me that maybe I had air on the line and I went thru and checked it all and it looked good to me so I don't know maybe it was the cold. Also my pump has been getting a little loud is only like 6 months old, the only thing I saw was that the blue hose had some cracks on the turns.

The problem is in your fuel. I run additive in every tank. They do run a winter blend, but if your fuel stop has water in the tanks you are going to get it. We use schaffers in every tank. We have never had a gelling issue with our trucks. Additive is a cheap piece of mind over freezing your *** off trying to change filters along side the road.
