Dr. Evil- i do not have access to an OBDII scanner, although my mechanic might...what would this do?

I couldn't find the APPS tonight but I found out it was just up/left from my VP44, so I'll try and adjust tomorrow.

How do I find out if it is the VP?

In most cases if the VP-44 is dead it sets a code in the computer - you need an OBDII scanner to retrieve this code(s). If your mechanic doesnt have a scanner - it time that you find an actual "mechanic".

This problem sound much like the "dead pedal" associated with VP-44 issues.

If you are going to continue to own this truck you need at a bare minimum, a fuel pressure guage and an OBDII scanner. If you dont have these two items - buy yourself a monthly bus pass.

Missed this the first time - do you or do you not have an Airdog?

I do have a AirDog 100, and yes my mechanic laughed when i asked him if he has on, he does have one. And the gauges haven't arrived yet! (Luke said: any day.... )

Also, I accomplished the APPS readjustment today (was .8 called for .51-got it flawless to hold at .52! )

On top of it all, I noticed my fuse was blown on my Airdog wire at the battery. I put a new on in and it blew after a short test drive. I started researching threads and found a phone # for Airdog and they said to take the plate off the pump and see if it was worn on the inside of the plate- It was! warn BAD. (apparently this is the cause of blown fuses?)

He's gonna hook me up with a new pump.

Would this have caused the "no power at WOT, and occasional puttering?

(I'm parking the truck until I get the pump.)

No fuel pressure = No Power

Seems like you have more than likely found your problem man.

Cool. Good call on the airdog - glad to see they are standing by their product.

Also good idea to park the truck - no need to risk buying a new injector pump.

Even though you have an Airdog - the fuel pressure guage is still a good idea just in case. In this case, you would have immediately been able to see your pump failing.
