Default Ext oil coolers?

Is anyboby runnig ext. Oil coolers? I had a thought about replacing the factory cooler with a machined block that reroutes the oil to some ext. Fittings for connecting to a ext. Cooler.
Any thoughts?
To me running oil through the coolant is more like a oil heater and not as efficent as a externally mounted cooler would be.

Not that I know of...

The exisiting oil cooler does a extremely good job of dumping the super heated oil back in the coolant. I would think that a air cooled oil cooler would be rather poor in a city condition... IMHO...

This really depends on the application. Oil filtration may be a better solution for you?
