Default Problems with Gates Rad hose

I needed to do an antifreeze flush in the truck. The hoses were looking tired and at over 200k on them, I figured may as well change them out too.

I got them from Geno's though they are just Gates hoses, same that Napa has.

The upper went on just fine. Perfect size and everything.

The lower, not so easy. It's not in the easiest spot to get to to begin with, but the big problem I had was the outlets of the hose were too small.

After fighting with it, throwing every swear at it and sweating my *** off in a 50* garage I got it on. Took some windex, heat gun and a little tool I made out of a coat hanger to get the hose to pop onto the nipples. The engine side end is about 1/8" from where it fits on the stock hose, pretty much the hose isn't expanded enough/far enough to go on all the way.

I even had to undo the intercooler tube and rotate that even because this hose isn't bent up as much to clear it as the stocker is!

I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem? I have had it happen before with aftermarket hoses. Too long, not bent the same, etc. Just odd the upper hose fit perfect and the lower was a royal PITA!
I'm going to send an email to Geno's about it, maybe they can stock the Cummins/Mopar brand hose instead or something.

Before you ask, no I wasn't over my head on this nor was I have a bad day! To **** me off more though, I bought a Wigidigit block heater plug and I only got page 1 of the instructions.

That hose in the link doesn't even look like it was formed well in the bend all bulged up. Maybe I'll try a goodyear hose found the part # is 62072 can't find a good picture.
Thanks Nate for the info!

It's not bad at all if the hose fits right. Just pull the coolant tank off the rad shroud and it's easy to get to from the top.
