2000 2500 qclb 4x4.

truck quit running as i pulled in my driveway last sat. put a lift pump on it last tues. was driving last night, started up a hill, it acted like it was running out of fuel, picked right back up, then i got to the top of the hill it puffed a small cloud of blue smoke and cut off, i had someone bring me 4 or 5 gallons of fuel to put in the tank just to make sure that i didnt run out of fuel. now it will NOT crank back, it will spin and spin, but not fire. there is fuel getting to the filter and to the line that feeds the injection pump. i do not know the fuel pressure, nor have i checked yet to see that it is feeding the injectors themselves. . . any ideas?

 

you need to check those fuel pressures becuase if you are getting good pressure it might be the ip

 

i finally started messing with it this afternoon, i guess the fuel guage isn't working properly and it run the entire system out of fuel, and even tho i put more fuel in it, the ip was vapor locked i guess, i cracked a couple of lines and it started pumping fuel again, it finally crank and was missing really bad for about 10 seconds or so and then it cleared out, i let it run about 10 mins and drove it to the parts house to order a sending unit for the tank. so hopefully thats all the problem with it and i didnt hurt the ip in the process!
