got an airdog 150 had nothing but problems
i have a 98.5 24 valve and i put a new vp 44 in it along with an airdog 150 i havnt been able to get a fuel pressure reading yet but the truck will continously hiccup and almost missfire at an idle. i was driving on the interstate running about 70 mph when the truck just fell on its face and i got a dead pedal. it picked back up and i drove it to my house immediatly where it died and would not start even with a cracked injector line or two.i have been having a rough idle for about a week now and i continously drain the filter on the airdog. the pickup tube is about 2 inches off the bottom of the tank. now when i bump the key to get the pump to prime it clicks twice and stops. can anyone help me.

well the pickup tube being 2 inches off the bottom is gonna be a huge problem, not with a full tank but when it gets low...mine is 2 quarters off the bottom of my tank and i mean i put 2 US quarters on the bottom of the tank and then thats how long i cut the pipe to...
will the pump run at all...if almost sounds like the pump isnt running right and maybe something is stuck in it

i cut the pickup tube last night and the truck is runnin alot better but it still has the hiccup at an idle.there are some occasions where it will run perfect and idle with no problems whatsoever. i almost think it could be a bad injector or two but then again everyone i talk to says the injectors either work or they dont. i also have the expandit 5 inch exhaust i got from luke at diesel dawgs and when i get on it the truck crackles kinda like a 6.0 powerstroke and it wont blacksmoke at all. should i just buy some better injectors and see if it cures the problem or try to clean the stock ones that are in it?

i'm not too familar with the operation of the VP44 but everyone sems to overlook that he put a new IP in and there's a popping noise under load... have you double checked your timing? low fuel pressure can cause the same symptoms; so everyone else is right on too; just dont ignore the other half of the equation that's all i'm saying
