Default transmision leak fix ideas

Ive got a drip coming from my tranny it is coming from the first gasket back on the tranny. It is a 1997 nv4500 4x4. Can i just unbolt the transfer case and pull it off to get to that first gasket? It is the first one back from the bellhousing right behind the tranny fill plug.

any ideas? if i pull the transfer case off first, then unbolt the tailshaft housing on the tranny will any bearings or anything fall out? i just want to re seal it. Is it posible to do it like this? or will the shafts and things fall out? any one have any good tech drawings of the nv4500?

Go to Download PDF PDFTown.com | Free Download PDF and eBook, you can download the service manual for the 2001, the 1997 might be there to, but I dont think so. In the 2001 service manual there is a section for the NV4500, all the drawing and everything should be there to help you out
