im wondering what is the first problem im going to have with my stock tranny47RE, whats most common? will it give any warning?

 

tq will go first or a band. most likely will start slipping.

 

for mine anyways, ot started slipping in between gears, almost like it was peeling out, but wasnt going anywhere, then catch then slip then catch. The shifts got softer and softer and would sometimes not go past 1st gear or 2nd gear. I felt like banging my head against the road when it did it. It took a few weeks before it got REAL bad. Then after real bad it was unbearable and I bought a DTT. All that was after 70k miles stock and about 20k with a Edge EZ

 

Many times the direct clutches fail and that takes out everything else. Other issues relate to internal leaks and the subsequent drop in pressure.

With mine I burnt the TC. It shook any time I accelerated through 60mph. Every time I pulled a trailer it was even worse.
