Fuel line discussion
The main issue is bio compatibility, so I don't see why someone is suggesting the failures are related to 2-stroke. Notice in the chart linked below where the "no's" appear:

It boils down the basic differences in the rubber chemistry. It's going to need a viton-type rubber compound for bio compatibility:

Various buna and nitrile compounds make up alot of the rubber in tubing sold as fuel hose.
