Sorry,Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) that mean your VP44 needs replaced:
P0216 (this is often refered to as the code of death, this is the most common code for VP44 pump failure) P1688 P1689 P0215 P0251 - P0260 :booo: |
:argh: Well I guess I am going to have to replace it . Is there a particular pump that you guys recommend maybe bluechip ? do you think that I should go ahead and replace the lift pump with a fass or an airdog fuel system ? what series? (I have a 2000 dodge ram 4x4 5spd) I want to thank everybody that pitch in any advice and knowledge thank you !

You have the standard output pump, SO, 027, and they are know by a few other names. An upgraded fuel pump is a nice addition, but at least make sure you have a low fuel pressure warning light or FP gauge.

I would suggest a fuel pressure gauge being that most low pressure light come on way too late most times... Like mine comes on at 4 PSI... By then you already damaged the VP44 from fuel starvation...
|
Is there any particular gauge you recommend.

http://mopar.mopar1973man.com/person...sure-light.jpg They are mark in 1/2 PSI increments... And look like stock gauges at night... :U: |
nice gauges, but they are bad about inventory. I had a customer wait almost 3 months for them to have an EGT in stock. It was not normally a special order part. Make sure if you order one that the vendor has them in stock, or go with isspro as they are a good value
