Default lowering a 1999 4x4

hey guys i want to lower my truck 3 - 4 inch below stock. is there a lowering kit out there i live up north in edmonton alberta. the back is no problem its the front can a guy just cut some spring out or u think 1/2 ton springs would lower it enough or r they to week. im going for the street truck look. its presently lifted with a 6 inch skyjacker dual shocks bl a bla bla, im tired of lifted trucks all my trucks have been lifted now im going for the street & strip. the reason im asking is i called around everywhere i phoned they all said why do you want to lower it like i was committing a sin or something. .

Why not buy 2wd diesel front springs? they're about 3" lower than a stock 4x4 aren't they?

dont put on the half tone springs...ride quality will be on a fast trip to hell...someone out there makes 2" lowering springs (i forget who at the moment)....2" is about all id go...there are a couple guys out there running it and they look legit...they do it only for drag racing purposes though....i myself have though of doing it but then i always change my mind when i realize i got the same size tires my friends lifted chevy has and that i can play in the dirt whenever i wish and hold my own in the clearance department...

Id like to lower mine as well... As far as 1/2 ton springs I know one guy for certain that is running them with no issues and has been for awhile (black dodge)

Id like to sit at the height these two trucks are for drag racing:

I'm going to remove the 'leveling kit' from the front of my '01 4x4 then drop the back to match. It's only about a 1 1/2" adjustment though. Dropping the back a lot wouldn't be a problem, (just replacing with the stock parts from a 2WD will drop it around 6") but aren't there some issues with the front end 4WD components bumping into things if the front is lowered significantly? I know even with the leveling kit, my 3rd Gen (beefy) track bar is touching the Mag-Hytec front differential cover occasionally.

Here are monster pump mikes 285/60/17 17"x10" rims on my truck, Were going to lower the front 2-3" as well as the back so it sits level or a 1" higher on monday

As soon as I unload my 05 alloys Im going to get the Diamo Karat's and Toyo Proxies

I really like the road handling and stance of the truck now! Im sure it will only be better lowered down a little more
