PO253 & TRUCK WONT START
got a 99 24 valve-edge comp box, southbend clutch, 5 inch straight pipe, and now a alliant 65 gph lift pump. the lift pump died on me and i replaced the stock one with a alliant lift pump. put the pump in thinking that was my only problem. well its not im very confused!!!
The truck cranks over but doesnt even try to start. So i then tried to bleed the injectors. i got fuel at all the injectors i could crack open (1-3-4-5-6). Still doesnt even try to to fire cranks and cranks but doesnt start. I then relized that i had check engine light only fault code i get after clearing the computer was PO253 does this mean i need a new vp44??? please help
Thanx

I have a 99 as well this happened to a week ago driving down the road truck died won't start got the same code with that code there are some electrical stuff that needs to be checked before you rule that it is a dead vp. you say that you are getting fuel out of the injector lines is it alot of fuel? If you are getting what seems to be pressureized fuel out of the lines then I don't think its your vp. I wasn't getting fuel out of my vp even with it hot wired to the 6&7pins on the pump mine was a dead vp$$$$$$$$$
