5 speed wont go into reverse or 5th
yeah i had a leak the other day coming from shift lever and from rear seal, changed rear seal then took off the four bolts that bolt down the shifter. took it off applied some silicone reinstalled it , put it all back together, now it wont shift into 5th or reverse. took it apart and wiggled it just wont go in, all the other gears work good. so i put it back together and drove it home. has any one have a problem like this before.
WTF im stumped

just a note never had a problem with this thing everything worked good, until i took off shift lever. when it s opened up it seems like its jammed for some reason , the other gears work ok. i guess im going to do the unthinkable have to take it off and open it up, man o man why couldnt they have a big cover like the older trucks used to so a guy can access the tranny .

Freddy, do NOT use anything other than Castrol Syntorque - you can only get it from Dodge Dealerships (and maybe chevy dealerships as wel). Using anything else will likely eat the fiber synchros and you will be faced with a complete tear down.
In in Etown too, but unfortunately I dont have a big enough garage to fit a full size.

I did one for my friend that was a new gear and nut....the nut had some retention screws in it too and it still came off 2 years later so thats when we did the tack weld
