My cracked like a crazy.
All i did was glue the cracks together and bought a dash cover from Cabelas. Out of site, out of mind.
New was over 3 bills.

My last truck was an 01 3500 4x4 6speed & it seemed like it feel apart overnight.Went to leave one morning & I think my damn coffee cup would have fallen thru that thing.Talked with a friend of mine that has worked @ a local dodge dealer for 20plus years,& he said dodge was trying to blame it on the heat. But he said that was b.s. because it was random, he knew my truck had vent-visors since day one.He got new one for me for like 125-150 his cost & installed it for like 40.I tried to pay more but he would`nt take it,I told him I would not have moved all the junk off the front seat of my moving office for that.He said some trucks did it under warranty & most did`nt.I think Geno`s Garage had some replacements for those things when mine happened.

I have heard many stories of dash cracking really bad. I have never seen it personally and hope I don't. My truck is a 01 and shows no signs of cracking Does any know if this is more probable on certain years?

From what I can tell all 2nd gens are prone to this. I've seen this first hand on a 94, my old 96 and a 2001.

Check the junkyards, that's where I found mine.

You might get lucky with this. It seems it's the southern states that suffer from this the most. My 96 came from Fl and there wasn't much left of the dash. I think I took it outfit the truck in like 6 different pieces.
