you're right, but i think i would just use the same layout. it's not gonna be much different.
or if you can get the measurements from a stocker. all you need to know is spacing side to side, and off the windshield for the center 3 and outter 2.
i don't think anyone has made a good template to follow.

Pull the headliner out of the truck. There are five holes in the roof(you'll see what I mean when you get the headliner out). You can use a hole saw/w pilot bit to mark the center of the hole. That will be the center of the lights. After you drill the hole big enough to fit the recon connectors through you can set the lights on top and measure from the edge of the windsheild to the back of the light(or front) and run a string so that the back of the two lights furthest back are even.
If IIRC the back of the middle three lights are 2" from that line. When I installed mine I pushed the center one another 1" forward because I liked how it looked. After you get them all on eyeball them(or have someone else do it while you adjust) so they are straight facing forward, and centered over the hole for the wiring(it doesn't really matter as long as they are even with each other), then use a center punch or an awl to mark where to drill for the screws. Put a dab of clear silicone around the base and gasket and around the screw head and viola! All thats left is the wiring.
The hardest part of the whole deal is convincing yourself that its okay to drill 15 holes in your roof. As a note becareful when you tighten them down. The lenses won't take a whole lot of torque. Don't ask me how I know.
