2002 Dodge Cummins Wheel Bearings Installation - Videos and Photos
Going to have to replace my Front Passenger side wheel bearings
Signs they are going bad include: a hum or roar that can be stopped when turning the steering wheel in one direction but not the other |
You will need the whole hub.
Start putting kroil on it now. |
ok
|
There are 4 (12 point [15 mm deep] if I remember correctly) bolts that bolt the hub to the rotor - hit them with some penetrating oil.
|
If yours are like mine were then don't forget the sledge hammer, and your lunch.
You can put pressure on the hub bearing from the rear by using a extension and socket and turning the steering wheel to wedge it,be careful, you can bend things.... $230+shipping from rock auto. RockAuto Parts Catalog Don't let them put you on they're mailing list, they send you stuff every frickin week it seems like. |
Thanks for the Heads up on the price !
|
No sweat,I'm all about where to get stuff free...if not free then I like it cheap.:w2:
|
You might as well do your axle u-joints while you're in there.
Check your ball joints over REALLY good before you start too. Might need them. |
Has new upper and lower MOOG ball joints already
|
My front U-joints made it over 400k already, not sure why everything is lasting so good.:humm: might be cause I rarely use 4 wheel hop.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Not trying to hijack, but where the heck can a guy get a rebuild kit for the control arms? |
