Where is the trans. control module? I got a p1698 code. Is there a way to test it?

You mis-read the error code...

P1698 is a No CCD Messages received from PCM Bus communication failure to PCM. A Companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM.

Basically the ECM and PCM are no longer talking or listening to each other... Check the wiring between both units. PCM is on the firewall on the passenger side. ECM is on the driver side of the block. The CCD bus is a twisted wire running between both...
