I brought the truck in to the shop for new ball joints. While they have it apart, I am getting them to replace the front axle u-joints. However, the hubs will not come apart, so guess what? Yup...I have to get new hubs now too.
So a job that was originally going to cost 750.00, will now cost about 1900.00 (might as well get new front rotors while they have it apart since I will need them next brake job, anyways).
That really sucks!

I know it! At least the new stuff will have a lifetime warranty.
It sucks that it is right before hunting season, because I need the cash for fuel! .

Rotors are 89.00, hubs are 450.00 IIRC.

 

Oh, would be double up here...thought ya got stuck up here with a breakdown.

 

I know it! I had to do the rear brakes up there and it was 950.00! I cried!

 

know how that feels i took my 06 to the dealership for ball joints and they said its not bad only 22,000 miles. Didnt make it home from the dealership and they gave up. I just put 40's on it aswell so there is a pile of body damage now the service manager isnt real happy

 

not sure where you got the hubs but i paid $270 for them at the local parts joint.

 

They seem to be taking advantage of you on the hubs the local shop that did mine only charged me 325 installed
