Just Replaced VP44 And Still Won't Run

The truck is stock, 100%. If you're referring to the overflow valve, yes it is in the right spot. There is only one place it will fit and that is the return line as far as I know? Right? Now you've got me wondering.....it's on the line closest to the front of the truck on the VP44.

I'm not sure about fuel pressure, but I know it has plently of it. I'm not sure about codes either since I can't get the truck anywhere to get the codes read.

The regulator is interchangeable with any other banjo bolt as far as fit goes. You have a 2 lines goin into the VP right next to each other. One is incoming fuel to the pump and one is outgoing excess fuel returning to the tank. That regulator has to be on the outgoing fuel side. Can't tell you from memory which side that is on though.

Ok, yeah it is on the outgoing side which is closest to the front of the vehicle. That would have been cool if that were the problem though.

You really need to get a code reader on this. And I still would like to have a quantitative value for the fuel pressure.

Well, fuel shoots about 3 feet out of the feed line and I estimate it sprays about 1 gallon every 15 seconds. That's about all I can give you at this time.

I'm trying to get my hands on a code reader. I have a Predator from my car that reads codes from that, but I don't think it will work on this truck.

Ok, fuel pressure is sitting at about 15psi all day long and there are NO CODES. I unplugged the cam sensor and checked again. STILL NO CODES. What's going on here??

I started it several times to see if a code might pop up, but nothing.

Sounds like you either have air in the lines or maybe your new VP-44 is bad.

Did you crack any injector lines? If not, be very careful. Fuel coming out of the injector lines is several thousand psi...never stick your hands anywhere near a cracked injector. Use some cardboard.

I just went out and bled the lines again. With the lines cracked and fuel pissing out all over the place, the motor will actually idle and stay running, but the go peddle still does nothing. What would cause that?? It seemed to "knock" louder than it was before and it was still very rough, but it stayed idle. What's going on with this thing?? An air leak at the injectors makes it run better??

Does anybody think the ECM might need to be reflashed or something? Can I bring the ECM to the dealer for this or does it need to be connected to the vehicle? Any way to test an ECM?

Well the scanner told me nothing. No codes at all. I'm just going to push this POS into the street with a FREE sign on it.
