Adjusting the Slop Out Of A 2nd Gen Steering Box

well I am at my witts end with this truck, the half a turn of slop is nuts, everything is tight and new with less then 5k miles on it, new pitman arm, drag link, bearings, TREs track bar, I am about ready to put a ford TTB suspension in it (kidding ofcourse) I thought it was in the gearbox but after looking at things I think it might be mostly in the shaft

The shaft helps, but it sure isn't the only thing giving us slop. Have you ever torn apart an old box? It looks like somebody poured sand in there. Thats how much wear these things go through, I haven't a clue why, but they do. The PSC's last a lot longer. While your replacing the box you may as well replace the shaft as well though. It'll tighten things up that much more.
