Default Welded exhaust

Well I straight piped my truck this weekend left the stock exhaust under cab then yesterday cut my tailpipe off the old muffler and welded it like a side dump I disconnected my batteries and put my ground as to the weld area as possible after that I connected batteries back and the truck cycled so I turn it and dies and move the battery lead and it turns on today It did the same thing only this time it took a little longer to to turn like 3 or 4 seconds but ran fine what could be the issue? Thanks!

Do you have any corrosion on the terminal ends? Are the ends tight?

I had my main terminal "go bad". As it was tightened all the way and snug, but not snug enough. replaced the line with a OEM line and no more problems from that.
