Default Tranny Upgrade?

I forget now where but I read a post that if one wants to keep their 2nd gen. 5.9 Dodge diesel they have to accept the fact that an injector pump and tranny upgrade is what one has to accept to keep it going...I understand the injector upgrade/replacement but what did they mean by tranny upgrade?...my tranny is fine now but do I need to think about an upgrade to it...tx...

The stock 47re for lack of a better term is junk. Most of the time people upgrade the valve body and torque convertor. Just changing those 2 out on stock power will greatly increase the life of the trans. It appears that you are running a stock power truck. If you were to increase the power you would be able to feel that the transmission wouldn't like it. Before I swapped in a NV4500 my truck used to buck when trying to pass someone with the tuner connected. But with just those 2 things and regular maintenance yours will last longer.
