Default 24v turbo issues help asap!

Hey guys recently my truck seemed as if the wastegate was sticking and the turbo wasn't lighting correctly but then out of nowhere the turbo would kick right on, build the boost it should and truck would run perfect. I went and put a different turbo I had lying around from my buddy's 24v and still the same problem is occuring (his truck ran perfect before hand just did a 12v swap). Hoping some of ya'll may have had the same problem and can help me out before I go throwing parts and sensors at it. Wasn't able to pull any codes yet. Will do first thing tomorrow. I'm thinking it might be the map sensor but any info helps guys! Thanks!

maybe a fueling problem. Do you have any gauges in the truck for boost?Fuel pressure etc.

No gauges, but my fuel pressure is good according to my mechanics snap on diagnostic tool, only thing thats seems off is my boost will stick at 5-7lbs then randomly shoot to 22-26 and run perfect.

Did you check the Turbo for some foreign objects inside? This tends to happen you know.

Yeah sorry for no reply. Ending up being a bad BD injection pump. Guy who had truck before me ran it with some foreign lift pump and no filters. Pump was only a little over a year old but because of running it with no fuel filter for over 3,000 miles it destroyed the pump just wasn't getting enough fuel to injectors. Threw a reman bosch vp on it and a fast 95gph and truck runs like a top now.
