Default filling empty torque converter

Hey guys, I forgot to add a quart of fluid to the torque converter before installation. I've been reading and some people say you can let the transmission pump fill the TC and some say you can't and have to remove the transmission. What should be done? I know some TC drain when the truck is off, so would running it for a few seconds before the fluid fills up be bad? Thanks guys

Safest way to do it is to pull the trans. I would be scared that I would fry a brand new TC.

Ok, I was really hoping it wouldn't come to that. Whats the best way, pull the trans with the TC still connected to the flex plate or disconnect the TC from flex plate and pull with the trans?

However you want to do it. I would disconnect it from the flex plate and take it out with the trans to prevent damage.

I've never heard that one. Have always let the pump fill them. Guess dumping some oil in wouldn't hurt though.
