New Guy- 5th Gear broke in my 01 3500 24 valve NV4500 Tranny Help?
5th gear has bit the dust in my 24 Valve 5.9 Turbo 3500 Dually. I have the NV4500 5 Speed Tranny and I've been told it could just be a lock nut backed off or I'll need a replacement gear. I'm looking for some advise from someone who has tackled this job before. I am mechanically inclined but not a mechanic. Is this a do it yourself-er? If doable any helpful info before hand would be greatly appreciated!
