have a 1999 dodge 3500 24v cummins knocks very lour runs good otherwise no miss that I can tell I need to know how to hook up a compression tester up truck has a white cloud when reved up does have blow by out oil cap but doesn't start that till truck warms up a bit exhaust tail pipe is very wet doesn't smell like raw fuel truck is built strong has a o-ringed head with arp head studs only 158k starts right up sounds like a thrown rod but could be a melted piston GF got mad a towed my 20ft encloded trail with both four wheelers with my edge with attitude on LEVEL 5 up a long hill she clamed it only was making a weird noise need help

The compression tester used for that engine will replace the injector.
Pull the lines and the valve cover off. Pull the feed tubes and one injector at a time and test the compression.
It is very hard for us to come up with a good diag without heading the noise.
Get back with some numbers and let us know!
