Towing
The other day i was pulling my 2000 pound boat up and down long hills. My truck seemed to struggle with it. Being a 24 valve cummins turbo diesel i shouldnt even feel that little of weight. The trucks mostly stock the transmission doesnt slip at all. Perhaps its my driving but she was pretty gutless pulling 2000k. I could not imagine pulling 10-12000 pounds. Any ideas as to what it could be or is this normal? Thanks 2001 dodge ram 2500 auto 2wd. I was doing 65 mph in and out of overdrive. Ac on blast and engine fan on blast.
My egts were 8-10 boost got in the mid 20s and transmission stayed around 150 degrees. My trucks temp i seen as high as 195 degrees. Pulling 2000 pounds. Does this seem normal? Thanks for your replys
