Default Sucking air

Ok guys, I'm new here. I'm trying to find out I anyone else has had the same problems as me, and what their fix was.....lets start at the beginning. I was on my way him from a 250 mile trek to the in laws in my 2002 2500, fuel gauge showed a little over 1/4 tank, had 50 miles to go, and diesel is cheaper at home, so I rolled past the fuel station. I was about 20 miles from home, and my truck starts loosing power like it was out of fuel, as I pull off the highway, truck dies. I went bad to the nearest town, bought a fuel tank and 5 gallons of diesel, and a 19mm wrench. Got bad to the truck, put the fuel in, bled the injectors....and it fired right up. Got home filled it up with diesel, took me about 15 minutes, because I could only trickle diesel in with the pump not even being on the first click. Ever since then, it does that when I fill it up, and every now and then it wants to air lock and I have to bleed it......I'm thinking fuel vent valve maybe?......what's your thoughts?

How much fuel did you add? What mods do you have?
