Default VP on 235hp '01

I just changed out the injection pump today and it, so far, has fixed my hard starting/running problems. I have a question about the serial number on the new pump though, as it doesn't match the pump I took off, even thought the place I bought it said it was right for my truck. The pump I received was a IPVR 15X (0470506027) while the pump I took off was 0470506015. What is the difference??

Can't say for sure but these pumps have gone through many updates and changes since 01, and in your case a pump that was probably built in 99 so this may just reflect the updated stock number.

Did you change the regulator banjo bolt while you were doin this. If not, do yourslef a favopr and change it also. These things ware out also and will kill the pump if it's not caught in time.

Glad to see you join our merry little band here. Be sure to fill out your signature block so everybody knows what you have.

OK, thanks. Plan on getting a new regulator banjo bolt tomorrow. It seemed week yesterday when I checked it and I think it was a source of the original VP failure.
