I cant wait to pull it down and see what happened, I think the head is good still, but there I go thinking again. Im 100% sure its a 53k truck, I have known it from the day he bought it. he went and had the 5th wheel installed and fine reserve hitch and never towed anything at all with it.
the oil looks clean and water/coolant free.
I sure hope this engine is a match, the other engines I have found are well over 250k and 4000 bucks.
SO your thinking if I swap out injection pumps and EMC this engine will go, what about crank shaft? I know of some engines the crank is cut differently from automatic's comparing to standards.

so the extra 40 foot pounds of torque comes from the engine its self and not the EMC or turbo? if that is true then I will have to think about that. I will be using the truck to pull my 873 Bobcat with a 72" Skid Pro brush cutter. so I will be pulling around 12,000 pounds. I will need every bit the truck can do, that is another reason I like the 6spd.

UPDATE,
OK back from offshore a week ago and have bought a complete cummins 2500 truck 142000 miles with a bad tranny. pulled the engine and found it had "liquid glass used at one time. so I pulled the head, found nothing wrong, but still installed my 53000 mile head and complete top end. engine back in and running. found the donor truck was liquid glassed due to the tranny cooler was bad. so I have a good spare head. The never ending story continues though. Now I start the truck and the tack works for 20 to 30 seconds and quits, I did not have a scan tool so I just changed out the cam sensor. Wow same thing, so Im going to get the scan tool and check the codes. I should be good with Cummins trucks by the time this thing is on the road. I sure have learned a lot through the adventure. #1 is that these engines do not just slip out or in! that is one tight fit.
