Default 2002 24 valve white smoke and misfire

Hello I am new to this site and was hoping for some opinions. I have a 2002 dodge 3500 automatic with the 24 valve in it. About 4 months ago vp pump went out so I replaced it and also installed the fass lift pump. Today I was driving down the highway and truck started jerking/ bucking really bad at first thought it was a Tranny concern then about 10 miles later started slowly loosing power and I started to see white smoke pulled off and shut it down. About an hour later I cranked it to verify even crank truck fired right up like normal and ran fine so I continued on my way about 15 miles down the rode started jerking again so I shut it off and restarted immediately fired right up and went till I hit about 75mph then started bucking again. So I limped it home and pulled all injectors out thinking maybe a cracked injector tip or stuck injector found number 3 injector holes to be plugged really not sure what my next step should be. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

I'd vote a bad vp-44. No way to tell without having the truck diagnosed.

Any possibility that it could be the lift pump or fuel filter?

Typically that would be the first step of diagnosis, prior to removing the injectors. Just assumed you had checked it. The fuel filter won't cause it, it's possible the pump is producing low pressure and killed the vp-44 but it would be the cause of the failure not the cause of the symptoms. Really need it diagnosed!
