Default Someone please help or ill post a burning dodge video

ok, so I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 6 speed, I have been having "dead peddle" issues for quite some time now and it is really getting annoying. I have replaced the vp44,apps,map sensor, fuel filter, fuel lines, lift pump and I am still getting the dreaded dead peddle. when im driving down the road it will be fine for a few miles then I loose power and only have about 1/4 peddle, if i turn off the ignition and back on I get full peddle again and full power.

There is a edge juice with attitude, intake, straight pipe, up graded lift pump. The codes are p1693 p0216 p0123. I think the p1693 is a old code

1693 is companion code IIRC... (too lazy to search right now )

sounds like you got a bad vp44.

APPS dead pedal won't give you a 1/4 pedal...it will just be dead till you push on and off 3 times and then it will come back till it gets a bad reading again and it goes dead again to prevent runaway from a false reading.

apps will never limit to 1/4 pedal and just keep working...that is without a doubt a vp44 electronic issue.

If you replaced it recently, I hope you didn't wire tap it and F yourself out of the warranty...

always a good idea to run a new vp44 untapped for a couple months to be sure it is a good pump before you tap it.

That's what I was thinking too was the vp44 I bought it from advance metal products in Utah az so it's not like I can just get a new one over night, they want me to send this one back and them check it out then either send me a new one or send this one back. So this is going to leave me truckled for god knows how long

I'd have to agree the VP is shot. P0216 is known as "the code of death" for VP44's it really is a timing failure code. Hopefully they don't screw you around for too long. But heres a list of most of the bad VP Codes.

P0216
P1688
P1689
P0215
P0370
P0251 - P0260
