Default luke warm heat

My radiator crapped out on me Sunday, split the plastic side tank. I replaced it and filled it with new fresh coolant. Now my heat only blows luke warm. It worked fine before. Its about 15 to 20 degree out. What do you guys think?

Thermostat stuck open, or possible bad heater core. have the system back flushed by like jiffy lube or most oil change places there could be a build up of crap blocking the flow

I did the thermostat last night and I still don't have good heat. The gauge stays around the 190 mark. How do I back flush it? I thought about hooking a garden hose to it but everything is frozen. Could it be an air pocket and I have to open one of those plugs in the head?

You could have an air pocket but to flush the heater core there is two hoses running into the firewall them and run your garden hose through the colder hose for about 5 minutes or so when I did it I let it heat up enough to where I could feel one of the hoses get warm and than I pulled the colder one and run the water in that way let me know if that helps at all

Get ready to pull your dash you probably need a new heater core if flushing it wont work

I don't have any coolant smell, there isn't any in the cab, and I haven't had any smoke come from the vents. So I don't think it's the heater core. I'm waiting for the weather to break to try and flush it.
