Default Sensor Help

What does the Tach read off of? and does anybody have the part # for the APPS on the 99?

This is what my manual shows.

24Valve APPS
Cummins- 3937161
Dodge- 4874412

Ok thanks for the numbers on the APPS. Anybody know where the tach gets the rpm from? cam position sensor or something?

On a 99 - tach signal comes from the crank position sensor

Do you happen to have the part number for the cam position sensor?

This is for 24V's:

1998.5 - 2000 had the crank position sensor - p/n: 4921601

2000 - 2002 used the cam position sensor - p/n: 4921597

Ummmm, did you even read my posts??....for the third time, a 99 has a Crank Position sensor. (Assuming you are asking about a 99 since you are posting in the 24V forum - if you are asking about your 12V - the p/n is the same as a 99).

Yes, its a Cummins part

Umm your not really makeing any sense there boss, I asked where it was located not if it has one.

I thought it was ok to ask questions but I guess not. Didnt mean to upset you.

Im not upset but you keep asking about a cam sensor after I told you 3 times that its a crank sensor on the early 24V - thers a difference isnt there?
